Amanda Vanstone Unloads on Guest Corey Tutt on Counterpoint

Former Liberal Frontbencher Criticizes Cultural Appropriation

This Program is No Longer in Production

Amanda Vanstone, a former Liberal frontbencher and federal government minister, has unloaded on her guest Corey Tutt on her Counterpoint radio program. Vanstone criticized Tutt, a Yorta Yorta man and founder of the Deadly Science program, for his use of "white privilege" and "cultural appropriation."

Vanstone said that Tutt's use of these terms was "offensive" and "divisive." She also accused him of "playing the victim" and of "trying to silence" her.

Tutt defended his use of the terms, saying that they are "important" for understanding the experiences of Indigenous Australians.

The exchange between Vanstone and Tutt has sparked a debate about the use of these terms, their accuracy, their fairness, and their divisiveness.
